RAID THAI 2006 in Chiang Mai, ThailandSix days and five nights of adventure racing!Dates: November 17-22, 2006 Raid Thai is a dynamic and uniquely challenging event in Northern Thailand. RAID THAI is a great challenge mixing sport and discovery in exotic Northern Thailand and is composed of five stages and different categories:
Trails:The trails are located in the hills surrounding Chiang Mai, such as the Mae Sa valley, Mae Tang, and Doi Suthep mountain. Three nights are spent in camping spots in order to be at the departure point for an early start. Two nights are spent in a Chiang Mai hotel, from where transfers to the departure point are organized. If you have never participated in a real competition, this is an opportunity for beginners to test their ability and be part of a professionally organized international event. 
The RAID THAI 2006 is open to all sportspeople, runners or mountain bikers, in good physical condition. The Raid is not only a competition but a fun international sporting event, which will be held in Chiang Mai every year. Participants can join as individuals or teams, in order to participate as racers, and thus be eligible for prizes, officially recorded times, etc.. Once can also participate on a non-racing basis, for those who wish to experience the atmosphere and the feeling of a real international competition. Nearly 100 participants are already registered this year, coming mainly from France, but also from Switzerland, Japan, Canada, Italy and other countries.
